Finished teal Rub-R-Wall membrane on a poured concrete foundation wall

For homeowners

Stop water before it is in the basement.

Interior systems collect water after it has already crossed the wall. An exterior spray membrane is the opposite idea: keep the water on the dirt side. Rub-R-Wall New England finds the certified dealer — we do not excavate or spray your house.

Exterior membrane

Rub-R-Wall is sprayed on the outside of the foundation. It is a seamless rubber skin. No sheet seams. If the concrete cracks later, the membrane stretches — about 1,000% elongation — and stays sealed.

Lifetime warranty is available when the system is properly installed. That is the manufacturer's product, applied by a certified dealer.

Interior “manage the water”

Interior drains, sump pumps, and wall board do not waterproof the foundation. They accept that water will enter and try to move it to a pit. Useful as a last resort on a finished basement you cannot excavate. Not the same job as a membrane.

If the wall can be exposed — new construction, or an existing house with room to excavate — start on the exterior.

New construction
Best time. The wall is already open. Green concrete is fine. Dry the next day, then backfill. Ask your builder to spec Rub-R-Wall and send us the town. We match a certified dealer. We do not sell foam.
Existing foundation
Exterior work means excavation along the leaking wall, surface prep, spray, and protection before backfill. Not every house is a candidate. The dealer inspects access and soil and tells you whether an exterior membrane is the honest fix.
